STRI Cultivar Profile
Cadix
The best rye cultivar on the STRI sports use table in 2005. Unrivalled shoot density whilst maintaining a very fine leaf. Exceptionally hard wearing making it an ideal choice for sports use.
Aberelf
Again one of the top rye cultivars for wear tolerance. Excellent shoot density so able to recover well from wear. The excellent fineness of leaf blends very well with Cadix.
Julia
The very top smooth cultivar for Sports use for 2005. Excellent shoot density, and has the highest score for recovery from wear due to its rhizomatous growth habit. Ideal for winter pitches.
Barcrown
The top slender cultivar in Europe for many years and still top in 2005. Excellent shoot density and disease resistance.
Raisa
One of the top rated chewings cultivars for 2005. Excellent shoot density and colour.
Herald
One of the top cultivars with a high shoot density.
